As a continuation of the joint project between Orange Foundation, France Telecom (FT)'s corporate social responsibility arm and Orange Jordan, Orange has signed an agreement with the Jordan River Foundation (JRF), supporting education, health and social reform activities of Rasoun, a remote village situated within Ajloun Governorate.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Mickael Ghossein, Jordan Telecom Group CEO, and Director General of JRF, Valentina Qussisiya.
Orange Jordan took part in sponsoring The International Women's Forum /Jordan the Second Leadership Enhancement and Mentoring Program (LEMP-II) supporting promising and potential Jordanian women leaders working in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.
The program is organized in cooperation with the Information Technology Association Int@j and the Young Leaders Organization /Jordan Chapter .
Orange's continuous efforts in sponsoring such forums comes as a result of its concern in enhancing women's leadership and their effective participation in all sectors , enabling them to become more inspiring leaders and forceful agents in their organizations and community at large .
Within the frame of joint celebrations and in a bid to embody the French-Jordanian cooperation, Orange Jordan sponsored the French cultural week organized by the Department for Culture and Cooperation of the French Embassy that took place in Jordan, February 19th - 23rd 2008.
These French activities were held on the occasion that witnessed the stopover of several French military ships in Aqaba and to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
Orange's continuous interest in sponsoring such activities comes as a result of its concern in strengthening the bilateral cooperation between Jordan and France and its keenness on enhancing their economic, cultural and investment relations.
In a bid to embody the French-Jordanian cooperation, and for the second year, Orange Jordan sponsored the 2nd street Carnival organized by the French Cultural Center celebrating the coming spring season.
On his part, Eng.Yousef Maddi, Jordan Telecom Group Foundation Manager, expressed his delight at Orange Jordan sponsorship which comes for the second year saying: '' This artistic cultural carnival is an opportunity to express the joy of spring arrival with the participation of old and young celebrating springtime in a non
-traditional way in line with the ancient rituals of the eastern countries to mark the change of seasons.''

As part of Orange's sponsorship of the cultural activities of the French Cultural Center, Orange Jordan sponsored the classical music concert entitled ''Amman wears its classical colour'' which was performed by Ophelie Gaillard, a renowned French musician.
Through this sponsorship Orange highlights the importance of music culture to be spread across the Jordanian communities and Jordanians giving them the opportunity to enjoy such unique performances.
Orange Jordan launched a plan to support the seven schools of INJAZ's School Adoption project, which aims at creating economic opportunities for Jordanian youth.
Through this project, Orange works to improve the schools' environment and facilities as both have a direct impact on the educational and learning process. Additionally, it aims at benefiting from the experiences and skills of the employees volunteering in the project to strengthen the students' individual and leadership skills as well as enhance their economic concepts through different training courses, improving by that their efficiencies as well as their social and economic skills.
The adopted schools are divided into seven different areas throughout the Kingdom as follows:
Ramlah Bint Abi Sufian Secondary School –female /Zarqa, Ammar Bin Yaser Secondary School –male /Irbid, Zaid Bin Haritha Secondary School –male/Madaba, Asma'a Bint Abi Bakr Secondary School – female/ Wadi Musa, Nusseibeh Almaznieh Secondary School –female/ Ma'an, Altafilah Mixed Primary School –female/Altafilah, King Nasser Elementary School –male/Ajloun. This distribution comes in an attempt to spread the benefit and reach areas far from Amman whose people are in dire need.
In its drive to interact and contribute to social activities, Orange Jordan supported the'' Morality'' campaign which took place at the University of Jordan and lasted for three days.
It aimed at strengthening their morals and principles as well as equipping them with the best moral education to achieve a positive change in their behaviors when dealing with different aspects of their lives.
Orange Jordan's sponsorship comes in line with its belief in contributing to the build up of Jordanian youth capabilities, skills and the development of their efficiencies and behaviors since they contribute into shaping Jordan's future
In recognition of its employees ' great efforts, Orange Jordan honored 43 of its staff members who took part in INJAZ, the program that focuses on the creation of economic opportunities for Jordanian youth.
A ceremony was held to celebrate the achievements that those employees made possible through their effective participation in INJAZ's program.
The program witnessed a rich participation of employees from different parts of the Kingdom; Amman,Irbid, Aqaba, karak, wadi Musa, and Ma'an, participating for the year 2007/2008.
At the end of the ceremony, Ghossein and Bibi presented Orange employees with special gifts and gratitude certificates for their distinguished achievements in INJAZ program.
INJAZ began its activities in 1999 as training program for the youth, part of Save the Children Foundation. The program turned in 2002 to a national non-profit entity through a ceremony held under the auspices of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al- Abdullah.
