about the Group

Jordan Telecom Group / Orange

Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) plays a prominent role in the information and communications technology sector. It’s fixed, mobile, internet, content and wholesale services constitute the real base for the kingdom's telecommunications renaissance and contribute to its integration with regional and world countries.

In the biggest integration of its kind in the market, the JTG, in 2006, combined its four companies under one umbrella becoming the sole integrated operator in Jordan. In 2007, the Group adopted the Orange brand, the commercial brand of France Telecom Group, one of the world's leading telecommunications companies, for all its fixed, mobile, internet and content services marking another significant achievement in the ICT sector. This step aimed at providing the Jordanian market with the standardized world class services of the Orange brand creating a clear difference in the lives of people who joined the Orange global family which encompasses 170 million customers in 220 countries and territories worldwide.

Since then Orange Jordan has made available the best telecommunications services for its customers through offering various and comprehensive services at affordable prices and in line with its values and principles to fulfill the requirements of the Jordanian citizens and meet the needs of the local market.

To continue to meet the demands of its customers and to drive better customer service, which is a key differentiator in today's competitive marketplace, the Group restructured its business units on the basis of the market segments they address:

The Orange Home Business Unit specializes in offering fixed and internet offers to the residential customers and Small & Medium business (SMEs) to simplify their life. It manages also the call centers, back office and the field sales of all residential and SMEs customers.
The Orange Personal Business Unit specializes in meeting the requirements of customers looking for mobile line solutions with highly focused customer service and differentiated offers. It manages also the entire distribution (shops and indirect sales) for the Group.

The Orange Enterprise Business Unit specializes in gathering and combining all aspects of the relationship with our corporate customers such as companies, banks, public and private institutions under one (mobile, fixed and internet) organization instead of three. This includes marketing, sales, call centers and back office for Enterprise. Also it manages the Contact Centers for the Group.
The JTG Wholesale Business Unit specializes in managing the relations between our Group’s networks and all national and international operators.

The Orange Innovations & Corporate Integrated Solutions Business Unit handles Group innovative offers such as Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) and manages projects implementation. It provides also turnkey solutions to the corporate customers.

This structure has also allowed the Group to add value plus simplicity to the life of its customers which has consequently distinguished the Group’s status in Jordan.
France Telecom Group (FTG) is one of the world’s leading telecommunications carriers with more than 172 million customers that are being served across five continents, in 220 countries and territories worldwide. FTG has been the significant strategic partner of the Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) since 2000. In 2006, FTG acquired 51% of JTG's shares, which paved the way in 2007 for JTG to fully adopt FTG's reputable commercial brand ''Orange'' for its fixed, mobile, Internet and content services. The partnership with FTG has allowed the company to make major investments in the network and telecommunications services, which enabled Jordanians to enjoy world class telecom services.

The backing of FTG's network and carriers opened wide perspectives for JTG and placed it as a major player in the Middle East. Soon, FTG selected JTG to be its gateway to investments in the region. New wholesale services, technologies, and a worldwide presence are but a few of the strong areas of support that JTG received from its partner. Coupled with positive relations with Arab operators, JTG has been able to integrate the best in both Western and Middle East world, representing key assets that allowed the Group to play a pivotal role in the region.

In the meantime, the partnership with FTG proved to be the most advanced global telecommunications merger in the Kingdom and paved the way for the government's shares to be public in the company’s IPO at the end of 2002 and in June 2006.
